Mistral and Saudi Arabia’s PIF-backed AI company HUMAIN announced a strategic partnership valued in the hundreds of millions of euros to build sovereign AI infrastructure in the region. The deal focuses on localized model development, Arabic-language capabilities, and in-region inference, targeting cybersecurity and voice applications.

The collaboration allows Mistral to expand its compute capacity beyond Europe and the U.S., leveraging HUMAIN’s Saudi data centers. The companies will also jointly target regulated industries in Saudi Arabia, aligning with growing demand for data sovereignty and open-weight models.

First deliverables are expected in cybersecurity and voice solutions, with broader deployment planned across the Middle East. The agreement follows Mistral’s recent push to scale its own compute infrastructure through its Mistral Compute arm.
