Micron’s stock surge aligns with peers as memory price fears ease, while long-term contracts secure $22 billion in commitments.

Micron Technology (MU) shares climbed 21% over five sessions, recovering from a prior 9.9% drop, as the broader semiconductor sector rebounded. The gain mirrored moves in peers like Intel (INTC) and Nvidia (NVDA), which rose 23% and 15.4%, respectively, over the same period.

The rally followed concerns over AI spending durability, supply glut risks, and Chinese competition, which had weighed on memory stocks. UBS described the selloff as overblown, contributing to the sector-wide recovery. Micron’s advance was not driven by company-specific news but by broader market sentiment.

Micron had previously secured $22 billion in cash deposits and commitments through 16 strategic customer agreements, covering 20% of its DRAM and a third of its NAND volume. These take-or-pay contracts, spanning five years, provide revenue stability through 2030.
