Methanex posted second-quarter non-GAAP earnings per share of $3.87, missing expectations by $0.14. Revenue reached $1.4 billion, up 75.7% year-over-year but $50 million below forecasts.
The company had previously guided for stronger performance, with consensus estimates anticipating higher earnings and revenue. Last year’s comparable period saw lower revenue growth but met market expectations.
Methanex also updated its 2026 production outlook, projecting approximately 9.0 million tonnes of methanol and 0.3 million tonnes of ammonia.
