CEO confirms 5,014 BTC moved between wallets for $8 in fees, maintaining 43,000 BTC holdings amid market speculation.

Metaplanet dismissed rumors of a Bitcoin sale after transferring 5,014 BTC, valued at $322 million, between custodial addresses. The company incurred approximately $8 in network fees for the transaction, which it described as a routine custody operation.

The Japanese firm holds 43,000 BTC, with an unrealized loss of $1.4 billion, according to data. Metaplanet remains Asia’s largest publicly traded Bitcoin treasury company and aims to expand its holdings to 100,000 BTC by 2026 and 210,000 BTC by 2027.

In March, Metaplanet launched Metaplanet Ventures, committing 4 billion yen ($25 million) to invest in Bitcoin and crypto infrastructure over the next two to three years.
