Early-stage talks could secure Anthropic GPU capacity from Meta over two years, adding to its existing $45 billion SpaceX deal.
Meta and AI startup Anthropic are in preliminary discussions for a potential $10 billion computing deal spanning two years. The arrangement, proposed by Anthropic in June, would involve monthly payments with an early exit option for either party, though no final agreement is guaranteed.
The proposed deal follows Anthropic’s existing $45 billion, three-year compute agreement with SpaceX, finalized in May. Meta’s potential partnership would provide additional GPU capacity, reinforcing Anthropic’s infrastructure amid rising demand for AI training resources.
Meta shares dipped as much as 6% intraday before recovering slightly, closing down about 2% on the news. The talks remain fluid, with no confirmation of final terms or timing.
