McDonald’s promoted Skye Anderson to president of McDonald’s USA, replacing Joe Erlinger effective immediately. The move aims to revitalize the company’s largest market amid weak U.S. sales growth, with same-store sales rising only 0.8% in the second quarter due to soft traffic.
Anderson, previously chief operating officer, has held multiple leadership roles, including leading Global Business Services. Her appointment follows CEO Chris Kempczinski’s call to “raise the bar” in the U.S. market, where performance has lagged compared to global operations.
The company stated the transition had been planned, though it comes as McDonald’s seeks to counter declining foot traffic and improve domestic results. Erlinger, who led U.S. operations since 2019, is leaving the company after over two decades.
