ADNOC awards McDermott a major EPCI contract exceeding $1bn to boost gas production at the Umm Shaif field in Abu Dhabi.
ADNOC has awarded McDermott an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract valued at over $1bn for the Umm Shaif Integrated Gas Cap and Surface Pressure Boosting Project. The contract covers a new surface pressure boosting unit, including a jacket, topside, and brownfield modifications, with the topside set to be one of the Middle East’s largest offshore modules by weight.
The project is part of ADNOC’s broader strategy to maximize gas production and support the UAE’s long-term energy goals. McDermott will oversee engineering and project management from its UAE offices, while fabrication will occur at its joint venture yard in China. The Umm Shaif project aims to enhance gas recovery and infrastructure efficiency.
McDermott’s senior vice president highlighted the company’s regional expertise and integrated execution capabilities as key factors in securing the contract. The award underscores ADNOC’s confidence in McDermott’s ability to deliver complex offshore developments.
