Mars-owned Nature’s Bakery shuts Missouri plant
Mars-owned Nature’s Bakery is closing a manufacturing plant in Missouri. The site in Hazelwood will be shut down by September 2027.
The company had previously announced plans to add new US manufacturing capacity for Nature’s Bakery. In 2024, Mars invested $237m in a new factory in Utah.
The Hazelwood plant’s production will be moved to other facilities. The closure affects 345 employees, with 130 set to leave in September and 215 by February 2027.
Mars had acquired Nature’s Bakery in 2020 through its snacking business Kind, with the brand operating plants in Nevada and Missouri at the time, and a total investment of $35.9bn in the sector.
