First-quarter data shows Malaysia’s crude production fell to 28.1 million barrels, offset partly by a 3% rise in condensate output.

Malaysia’s total oil production declined 5.5% year-over-year to 43 million barrels in the first quarter of 2026, driven by a 9.4% drop in crude output to 28.1 million barrels. Condensate production rose 3% to 14.9 million barrels over the same period.

The decline in crude output contrasts with 31.5 million barrels produced in the first quarter of 2025, while condensate volumes increased from 14.4 million barrels. Natural gas production also fell 2.1% during the quarter.

The data reflects ongoing challenges in crude extraction amid weaker output trends in key fields.
