Eli Lilly and Company (LLY) acquired Austin-based 4E Therapeutics, a neuroscience firm developing orally available MNK inhibitors for chronic pain. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the acquisition bolsters Lilly’s pipeline in pain management targeting the MNK-eIF4E signaling pathway.

On the same day, Lilly reported Phase 1 data for AJX-101, its investigational type II JAK2 inhibitor, showing a favorable safety profile and encouraging clinical activity in myelofibrosis patients resistant to type I JAK2 inhibitors. The therapy was added to Lilly’s pipeline via a prior acquisition, reinforcing its oncology focus.

With a short interest of 1.10% of shares outstanding, Lilly continues to strengthen its position in longevity and anti-aging therapeutics, alongside its core franchises in diabetes, obesity, and immunology.
