Kuwait Petroleum has partially shut down its 615,000 barrel-per-day Al Zour refinery following a power cut on July 18. The disruption affected multiple units, including a crude distillation unit, with restarts expected by August 10.

The refinery had already delayed restarting another crude unit to August 10 after an unplanned shutdown in March. Al Zour, one of the region’s largest refineries, plays a key role in global oil product supply.

No immediate market reaction was reported, but the outage could tighten regional refining capacity in the short term.
