Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, has partnered with Anthropic to use its Claude Mythos 5 AI model for cybersecurity. The tool will scan systems for vulnerabilities, with findings reviewed and patched by security teams. This marks the first crypto firm to join Anthropic’s Project Glasswing, a program granting vetted organizations access to defensive AI models.

The move follows a joint letter from over 40 Bitcoin and crypto companies urging AI labs to provide trusted access for security purposes. Payward stated the AI will help combat sophisticated threats and safeguard its financial infrastructure, while also reporting flaws in third-party open-source software to maintainers.

Project Glasswing aims to strengthen defenses across the crypto industry by leveraging advanced AI capabilities. Payward’s security division will use the model to enhance protection for millions of customers globally.
