Kazakhstan’s oil exports are under pressure as drone strikes linked to the Ukraine war disrupt regional energy infrastructure. Despite being unsanctioned and a potential alternative to Russian crude, Kazakhstan’s shipments face delays and operational failures at key fields, mirroring risks faced by Moscow.
European refiners had sought Kazakh crude as a substitute for Russian barrels, but repeated attacks on export routes and internal logistical issues have limited supply. The country’s largest fields have also experienced production setbacks, compounding the challenges.
