JPMorgan expanded its exposure to cryptocurrency ETFs in the second quarter, boosting its Bitcoin position by 25% and more than quadrupling its Ether holdings. The bank’s stake in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) rose to 10.4 million shares, valued at approximately $356 million, up from 8.3 million shares in Q1.

The Ether ETF position surged to 1.17 million shares from roughly 267,000, reflecting a sharper increase. Analysts noted that Form 13F filings aggregate holdings across an institution, including client-related and inventory positions, making it unclear whether the moves signal a directional market view.

The filing, submitted to the SEC, covers holdings as of June 30 and includes data from 17 other investment managers within JPMorgan.
