JPMorgan Posts Record $21.2 Billion Q2 Profit on Trading, Visa Gains

JPMorgan Chase reported a record $21.2 billion net income for Q2 2026, or $7.70 per share, fueled by an 86% jump in equity markets revenue and a $4.6 billion gain from its Visa stake. Excluding one-time gains, profit was $16.9 billion, with a 23% return on tangible common equity.

Total revenue rose 27% year-over-year to $58.0 billion, with all business lines posting record results. Investment banking fees climbed 30% to $3.3 billion, the highest since 2021, while assets under management reached $5.1 trillion. The bank also raised its full-year net interest income outlook to $105.5 billion.

Markets revenue hit $12.1 billion, surpassing the prior quarterly record set earlier in 2026. Consumer banking revenue grew 8%, and wealth management added a record 44,000 first-time investors.
