JPMorgan reported record Q2 earnings of $21.2 billion but CEO Jamie Dimon cautioned about underlying economic vulnerabilities.
JPMorgan Chase reported a second-quarter profit of $21.2 billion, marking a record across all business segments. Excluding one-time gains, earnings stood at $16.9 billion, driven by an 86% surge in stock-trading revenue amid market volatility.
The bank’s investment banking fees rose 30% to their highest level since 2021, reflecting a rebound in dealmaking activity. Consumer banking and wealth management also hit record revenues, underscoring broad-based strength.
Despite the strong results, CEO Jamie Dimon highlighted potential economic risks, including geopolitical tensions and market instability, tempering the outlook.
