Janus Henderson has agreed a partnership with Insignia Financial that will see it acquire three specialist investment management businesses: Antares Fixed Income, Antares Equities and Fairview Equity Partners.

Financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed

Together, the firms oversee about A$33bn invested in Australian fixed income, broad-cap shares and small-cap shares. Most assets are run for institutional investors, including Insignia mandates and other institutional clients, alongside a set of established retail strategies. Insignia Financial Asset Management CEO Garry Mulcahy said: “We are delighted to enhance our strategic partnership with Janus Henderson.

The combination of Janus Henderson’s global investment capabilities and the expertise of the Antares and Fairview teams creates a strong foundation for future growth in the Australian market. “We have had a long association with Janus Henderson and look forward to continuing to work with such a high calibre global investment firm.” Antares Fixed Income is set to be combined with Janus Henderson’s existing Australian fixed interest team. Antares Equities will be integrated into Janus Henderson’s global equity operation and will continue managing Australian large-cap equity portfolios for institutional and retail customers. Janus Henderson will also purchase Insignia’s 40% holding in Fairview Equity Partners, which will continue operating as an independent boutique focused on Australian small-cap equities.
