Activist investor Jana Partners urges Alkami Technology to explore a sale after acquiring a 10% stake, citing potential shareholder value gains.

Activist investor Jana Partners has accumulated an economic stake exceeding 10% in Alkami Technology (NASDAQ:ALKT) and is advocating for the digital banking software provider to engage with potential buyers. The move follows Jana’s belief that a strategic transaction could unlock shareholder value amid growing interest from larger technology and financial services firms.

Alkami, forecasted to deliver 40.83% EPS growth over the next five years, was recently identified by JPMorgan as a high-conviction acquisition target. The firm maintained an Overweight rating on ALKT but lowered its price target to $19 from $20, citing overstated AI competition concerns and the sector’s high switching costs.

The push for a sale aligns with Alkami’s leadership in the consolidated digital banking software market, where activist pressure has intensified. No immediate market reaction was reported following the disclosure.
