Tehran warns of proportional military response after Trump threatens attacks on Iranian assets in Strait of Hormuz tensions.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated Tehran will retaliate in kind to any US attack on its infrastructure, following President Trump’s threats to bomb Iranian sites for each ship targeted in the Strait of Hormuz. Araghchi emphasized Iran’s defense doctrine as “eye for an eye” and warned US actions would escalate conflict.

Tensions have risen amid US sanctions on Iranian oil exports, with Tehran previously threatening regional oil supply disruptions. Iran’s parliamentary speaker echoed this, stating no country in the region would export oil if Iran cannot.

Markets may see heightened risk-off sentiment as geopolitical risks in the Middle East intensify, potentially impacting oil prices and safe-haven assets.
