The Indian Rupee strengthened against the US Dollar on Tuesday, with the USD/INR pair dropping to 96.34 from Monday’s two-month high of 96.76. The move follows renewed hopes for de-escalation in the Middle East after Iran received a 10-day ceasefire proposal from mediators.

Oil prices paused their rally as geopolitical tensions eased, benefiting oil-import-dependent economies like India. The MCX Crude Oil contract for August delivery slipped to Rs. 7,945 after hitting a five-week high of Rs. 8,158 on Monday. Markets reacted positively to reports of ongoing US-Iran negotiations.

While peace efforts may limit oil upside, continued hostilities could reignite volatility. The rupee’s rebound reflects reduced import cost pressures amid stabilizing crude prices.
