India explores biogas as LPG substitute due to oil supply shock
India’s government is urgently exploring alternative energy sources, including biogas, to mitigate the impact of the Middle East crisis on oil and gas supply.
The country has been grappling with an energy crisis sparked by the Iran war, which has choked oil and gas supply to the world’s third-largest crude importer.
The government aims to turn India into a developed nation by 2047, its 100th independence anniversary, and is pushing for faster implementation of reforms to achieve this goal.
