Intercontinental Exchange CEO Jeffrey Sprecher highlights Hyperliquid’s dominance in decentralized perpetual futures with over 70 percent market share.
Intercontinental Exchange CEO Jeffrey Sprecher stated that decentralized crypto derivatives platform Hyperliquid surpasses Nasdaq in trading activity. He praised the platform’s small team and noted its significant influence in the market during a Bernstein conference this week.
Hyperliquid controls more than 70 percent of the decentralized perpetual futures market. Its 24/7 trading, including oil derivatives on weekends, has attracted non-crypto traders, contrasting with ICE’s traditional market hours.
Sprecher emphasized regulatory gaps, suggesting policymakers may soon address whether to classify perpetual futures under existing Dodd-Frank and EMIR rules or create a new regulatory category.
