Hyundai Motor Group commits $27.5 billion over a decade to develop AI-driven vehicles and next-gen infrastructure in South Korea.
Hyundai Motor Group will invest $27.5 billion over the next ten years to build an advanced technology hub in South Korea’s Yeongnam region. The funding targets AI-defined vehicles with Level 4 or higher automation, manufacturing AI, aerospace, and energy infrastructure development.
The investment aligns with Hyundai’s broader strategy to transition into a future technology company, complementing its existing Saemangeum project. The initiative aims to create jobs, foster regional growth, and enhance South Korea’s economic competitiveness in high-tech sectors.
Hyundai signed an MOU with multiple government ministries and local authorities to launch the program. The automaker stated the move will strengthen its growth drivers and support balanced regional development.
