The House Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing Tuesday to discuss crypto tax proposals, including changes to staking rewards and small transaction rules. The session aims to address long-standing uncertainties in digital asset taxation, according to committee materials.

Key measures include a $10 exemption for network fees on up to 5,000 transactions per year and a two-year safe harbor for taxpayers who failed to report prior crypto gains. The hearing follows Republican draft bills released last week, which seek to refine IRS treatment of crypto-related income.

Witnesses from Fidelity, Coinbase, Coin Center, and NYU Law’s Tax Law Center will provide industry and policy perspectives during the 2 p.m. ET session, which will be streamed live.
