Daily tanker crossings through the Strait of Hormuz fell below 20 vessels over the weekend amid renewed U.S.-Iran threats.
Tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz slumped to fewer than 20 vessels over the weekend as Iran and the U.S. exchanged fresh threats. Only 13 tankers passed on Saturday, dropping to four on Sunday, according to vessel-tracking data.
The prior week saw 103 vessels enter and 89 exit the strait, with 16 tankers crossing on Friday and one VLCC on Thursday. The decline follows heightened geopolitical tensions in the region.
No immediate market reaction was reported, but reduced flows could tighten crude supply if sustained.
