Horace Mann Educators posted a 20% year-over-year increase in Q1 2026 core earnings per share to $1.28, matching record levels. The company maintained its full-year guidance of $4.20 to $4.50, citing improved profitability and growth across segments.

The property and casualty segment led gains, with core earnings up 46% and a combined ratio of 83.3%, reflecting lower catastrophe costs and better underwriting. Life and supplemental product sales also rose, with group benefits sales more than tripling from the prior year.

Management reiterated its three-year strategic targets, including a 10% compound annual growth rate in core EPS. Core shareholder return on equity reached 12.7% for the trailing 12 months.
