The home improvement retailer’s same-store sales declined 3.2% in fiscal 2023 and 1.8% in fiscal 2024, with only a 0.3% rise in fiscal 2025. Analysts expect a 1% increase at the midpoint for the current fiscal year. Home Depot will report second-quarter 2026 earnings on August 18, offering fresh insight into its performance amid tighter economic conditions.

Shares of Home Depot have underperformed over the past five years, rising just 5% as of August 6, following a pandemic-driven revenue surge in fiscal 2020 and 2021.
