Germany’s plant-based food sales climbed 3.1% to €1.71bn in 2025, driven by a 6.2% volume increase, making it Europe’s largest market for such products. The growth spanned all six tracked segments, including meat, dairy, and seafood alternatives.

Italy and France also saw gains, with sales rising 4.5% to €668.8m and 11.4% to €571.7m, respectively. Spain’s market grew 7.7% to €545.7m. In contrast, UK sales fell 1.2% to £847.8m, while the Netherlands recorded declines across five categories.

The data, covering major European markets, highlights divergent trends in consumer demand for plant-based products. Germany’s expansion contrasts with stagnation in the UK and Netherlands, where volume and value both dropped.
