The currency pair falls 0.37% to 214.25 after failing to breach the 50-day moving average, signaling potential further declines.

The GBP/JPY pair retreated 0.37% to 214.25 on Wednesday, slipping below its 50-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) of 215.56. Sellers gained control after the cross failed to sustain levels above 216.00, raising concerns over near-term momentum.

Technical indicators suggest a neutral-to-bearish bias, with the 100-day SMA at 214.75 acting as immediate resistance. Support levels include the 200-day SMA at 212.45 and the August 7 low of 211.47. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) shows sellers are strengthening, reinforcing downside risks.

Resistance lies at the April 10 high of 216.60, followed by 217.00 and the July 10 peak of 218.69. A break above these levels could shift sentiment, but current trends favor further weakness.
