Michelle Bond Salame, wife of convicted FTX executive Ryan Salame, will stand trial for alleged unlawful political contributions tied to the exchange’s collapse.

Michelle Bond Salame, spouse of former FTX executive Ryan Salame, is scheduled for a November trial on campaign finance charges. Prosecutors allege she conspired to make unlawful political contributions linked to the crypto exchange’s 2022 collapse. Ryan Salame was sentenced to 90 months in prison in 2024 after pleading guilty to related charges but failed to overturn his plea on claims of prosecutorial misconduct.

Ryan Salame was one of three FTX executives imprisoned over the scandal, alongside Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison. Bankman-Fried received a 25-year sentence for seven felony counts, while Ellison was released early in January after serving less than her two-year term. Two other executives avoided prison time after testifying against Bankman-Fried.

Bankman-Fried’s appeal was rejected by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals earlier this month, leaving a presidential pardon or Supreme Court intervention as his remaining options. Lawmakers have warned against clemency for the disgraced crypto founder.
