A single €1.2 billion fund close drove nearly half of France’s €2.4 billion VC fundraising in the first half of 2026.

French venture capital fundraising reached €2.4 billion in the first half of 2026, surpassing the €1.7 billion raised in all of 2025. The surge was led by Jeito Capital’s €1.2 billion close in March, accounting for over 40% of the total, alongside other biopharma fundraises like Kurma Biofund IV’s €215 million close in April.

State-backed capital and institutional commitments have sustained the market beyond the Jeito close. Bpifrance remains a dominant force, contributing roughly 30% of seed and early-stage investments and pledging €10 billion to AI last year. The Tibi 2 program, launched in 2023, has also mobilized €7 billion from institutional investors for tech-focused funds through 2026.

Additional fundraises, including Atlantic Vantage Point’s late-stage vehicle, could further bolster momentum in the second half of the year.
