The $1.7 trillion asset manager now offers institutional clients actively managed crypto strategies following the integration of 250 Digital.
Franklin Templeton (NYSE: $BEN) has launched a dedicated cryptocurrency investment unit after completing its acquisition of 250 Digital. The new division will provide institutional clients with actively managed crypto strategies, combining 250 Digital’s expertise with Franklin Templeton’s global investment platform.
The acquisition was first announced in April as part of Franklin Templeton’s push into digital assets. Financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed. 250 Digital, known for liquid digital asset strategies, has been fully absorbed into the firm.
Franklin Templeton plans to allocate its own capital to cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin ($BTC). The new unit will be co-led by crypto veterans Christopher Perkins and Seth Ginns. $BEN shares have climbed 47% over the past year, trading at $33.69.
