The Franklin FTSE Brazil ETF (FLBR) charges 0.19% annually, 40 basis points below the iShares MSCI Brazil ETF (EWZ) at 0.59%. On a $10,000 position, the gap equals $40 per year in savings.

EWZ, with $88.51 billion in assets, tracks the MSCI Brazil 25/50 Index and has long dominated Brazil exposure for U.S. investors. FLBR, launched in 2018, follows the FTSE Brazil RIC Capped Index, excluding Nu Holdings while overweighting Vale and Petrobras, driving its 2026 edge.

Year-to-date, FLBR has outperformed EWZ by roughly 5 percentage points, though taxable investors face a 15-20 percent capital gains hit when switching.
