The 2027 deadline aligns with growing concerns over quantum computing threats to cryptography, including risks to blockchain networks. Nearly 1.92 million BTC, or 10% of Bitcoin’s supply, is considered vulnerable to quantum attacks, according to Glassnode. Coinbase has also warned that proof-of-stake blockchains like Ethereum and Solana face heightened risks.
