Fox Corporation announced an agreement to purchase Roku for $160 per share, valuing the company at approximately $22 billion. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approvals.

Roku operates a streaming platform installed in over 100 million households globally, including more than half of U.S. broadband homes. The acquisition aligns with Fox’s strategy to expand its digital footprint, complementing its existing assets like Tubi, which generated nearly $1.5 billion in revenue in fiscal 2026.

Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch called the transaction a “defining moment” for the company, emphasizing its role in consolidating control over streaming distribution. The move marks one of the largest acquisitions in the streaming sector to date.
