The LNG carrier Disha docked at Dahej Port, marking India’s first post-deal energy shipment through the critical chokepoint.
India received its first liquefied natural gas shipment through the Strait of Hormuz since the U.S. and Iran reached a deal last weekend. The Malta-flagged tanker Disha arrived at Dahej Port on India’s west coast Friday after safely transiting the strait earlier in the week.
The vessel, chartered by Petronet LNG and managed by an India-led consortium, anchored at the company’s jetty. The strait, a key route for global energy supplies, had seen heightened tensions before the diplomatic agreement.
No immediate market reaction was reported, though the shipment signals potential stabilization in regional energy trade flows.
