Loan growth of 3 percent from the prior year supported the bank’s performance, with disciplined execution and customer relationship investments cited as key factors. The bank’s return on equity also improved, reflecting strength across its business segments.

Shares climbed 3.6 percent in premarket trading following the earnings release, as investors reacted to the better-than-expected results.
