Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh will discuss monetary policy alongside ECB, Bank of England, and Bank of Canada leaders at a central banking forum.

Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh will participate in a moderated policy panel at the ECB Forum on Central Banking in Sintra, Portugal, at 1200 GMT. The discussion includes ECB President Christine Lagarde, Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey, and Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem, focusing on monetary policy and economic outlook.

At the June FOMC meeting, the Fed held the federal funds rate at 3.5-3.75%, removing forward guidance and easing bias language. The dot plot median for end-2026 rose to 3.8%, with nine of 18 participants projecting a hike this year. Warsh declined to submit his own dot, citing concerns over the tool’s usefulness and calling for a broader review of Fed communications.

Warsh previously stated inflation remains elevated above the Fed’s 2% target, driven partly by supply shocks, while emphasizing the Fed’s commitment to price stability. Labor markets were described as stable, with some FOMC members seeing improving trends.
