The Federal Reserve announced leadership for five task forces aimed at reviewing and advancing its monetary policy conduct. The groups will assess whether current tools, methods, and analytical approaches remain effective in achieving price stability and maximum employment.

Each task force is co-led by external advisers, including economists, business leaders, and former central bank officials. They will operate independently, supported by Fed staff, and provide findings to the Federal Open Market Committee. The initiative reflects the Fed’s response to significant economic changes in recent years.

Chairman Kevin Warsh emphasized the Fed’s commitment to its dual mandate, stating the goal is to ensure the central bank is optimally positioned for current challenges. The task forces will focus on areas including communications, policy tools, and economic modeling.
