August Eurozone flash PMIs exceeded expectations, signaling resilience in services and manufacturing sectors amid economic uncertainty.
Eurozone August flash PMI data surpassed forecasts, with the services sector holding at 51.7, matching July’s reading and topping the 51.5 estimate. Manufacturing also outperformed, rising to 52.8 from 51.9 in July, against expectations of 51.8.
The composite PMI climbed to 52.1, up from 52.0 in July and above the 51.7 consensus. Prior readings for services and manufacturing had signaled modest growth, while demand conditions in France remained weak, contrasting with Germany’s stronger manufacturing uptick.
The data suggests sustained economic expansion, though uneven across sectors and regions, with potential implications for monetary policy decisions ahead.
