European equity markets finished the session with mixed results as investors balanced optimism surrounding the new UK government against broader macroeconomic concerns.

The German DAX rose 30.67 points or 0.12% to 24,861.66, while the French CAC 40 rose 1.30 points or 0.02% to 8,340.12.

In contrast, the UK’s FTSE 100 fell 75.63 points or -0.71% to 10,524.75, and Italy’s FTSE MIB fell 19.49 points or -0.04% to 51,862.78.

Government 10-year bond yields moved modestly higher across the region, with the UK 10-year Gilt yield rising 6.3 basis points to 5.036%, and the German 10-year Bund yield rising 0.9 basis points to 3.151%
