The Euro rose against the British Pound for a third straight session, testing 0.8550 as markets priced in a potential European Central Bank rate hike after September. The move reflects growing confidence in ECB tightening amid improving Eurozone economic data, including a rebound in Q2 GDP and steady employment growth.

Recent Eurozone data showed GDP growth recovering from stagnation, while employment rose moderately, supporting the case for further ECB action. In contrast, UK economic signals remain mixed, with July’s Industrial Production data suggesting a Q3 slowdown and June’s inflation figures easing pressure on the Bank of England to hike rates next month.

Market volatility remained subdued in light summer trading, but political uncertainty in the UK and a split BoE committee further weighed on the Pound. Analysts warn that fiscal concerns could keep Sterling under pressure in the near term.
