Arla Foods and DMK Group will merge after securing unconditional EU approval, creating Europe’s largest dairy cooperative. The combined entity will process 19.4 billion kg of milk annually and generate over €20bn in revenue, operating under the Arla name.

The deal, first announced in April 2023, received clearance from the European Commission, which found no competition concerns in the EEA. The companies will remain independent during a two-year integration process starting 1 June.

The merger aims to enhance economic resilience and investment capacity for dairy farmers across seven European countries. The new group will employ 28,800 people globally and focus on sustainable food production.
