Energy sector yields 2.7%, outpacing S&P 500’s 1.1% dividend yield
The energy sector, which is the fourth-smallest sector in the S&P 500, offers a higher dividend yield of 2.7%.
This yield is measured by the S&P Energy Select Sector index, a basket of the largest domestic energy stocks ranked by market capitalization.
Some energy stocks, such as Chevron, offer even higher yields, with Chevron yielding 3.7% and having a 39-year track record of consecutive dividend increases.
The energy sector is home to 69 U.S.-listed energy stocks with dividend yields of at least 3% and gains over the past 12 months.
