Lilly’s tirzepatide sales drove $23 billion in quarterly revenue, with Mounjaro and Zepbound posting strong year-over-year growth.
Eli Lilly reported a 48% year-over-year increase in second-quarter revenue to $23 billion, fueled by demand for its GLP-1 drugs. Mounjaro, used for diabetes, generated $9.9 billion in sales, up 91% from the prior year.
Zepbound, the weight-management version of tirzepatide, contributed $4.9 billion, a 46% rise. The company’s oral GLP-1 drug, Foundayo, is expanding the market but has yet to produce significant revenue.
GLP-1 drugs are now treating conditions like obstructive sleep apnea, broadening their addressable market beyond diabetes and weight loss.
