European Central Bank Governing Council member Martin Kocher indicated the ECB stands ready to implement monetary policy adjustments at any time. The central bank aims to achieve its 2% inflation target over the medium term, with no secondary effects currently observed.

The ECB’s primary tool for managing inflation remains interest rate adjustments, with eight policy meetings scheduled annually. The Euro, the second most traded currency globally, saw a daily turnover exceeding $2.2 trillion in 2022, with EUR/USD accounting for roughly 30% of transactions.

Following the remarks, the EUR/USD pair rose 0.16% to 1.1438.
