The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation processed tokenized equities, ETFs, and Treasurys in a major blockchain pilot involving 24 financial firms.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) completed its first live production trades using tokenized securities, including equities, ETFs, and U.S. Treasurys. The initiative, its largest tokenization effort to date, involved over two dozen financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, and Vanguard.

The pilot demonstrated tokenized assets’ ability to support collateral transfers, repo transactions, and margin movements while maintaining legal ownership rights identical to traditional securities. Previous blockchain tests were limited to simulations, but Wednesday’s trades marked a shift to real-world execution.

DTCC plans to launch a tokenization service in October, aligning with Wall Street’s growing interest in blockchain-based market infrastructure. The move signals a potential transformation in securities settlement and trading processes.
