Douglas Elliman Inc shares declined 12.3% in premarket trading after announcing a sweeping AI-driven transformation. The company aims to reduce non-commission operating expenses and build a proprietary intelligence business using Google Cloud technology.
The initiative, dubbed Elius, will leverage the firm’s luxury real estate data to create new revenue streams beyond traditional brokerage. Management expects cost savings over the next three years through technology integration and improved efficiency.
CEO Michael Liebowitz stated the move will redefine the business, emphasizing intelligence as the next growth driver. The strategy includes modernizing workflows and expanding into adjacent markets.
