DMK Group will invest €55m to expand its dairy plant in Edewecht, Germany, including €26m for a new whey protein concentrate facility with 7,000-tonne capacity. The move aims to strengthen its position in high-growth international markets for milk proteins.

An additional €15m will upgrade packaging and logistics, while another €15m will fund energy efficiency measures, such as electrification and heat-pump technology. The investment aligns with DMK’s long-term strategy and its planned merger with Arla, announced last April.

The merger would create Europe’s largest dairy cooperative, combining over 12,000 farmers across seven countries. DMK’s CEO cited the expansion as a step toward modernizing production and sustainability.
