A Danish shipyard, Fayard, is servicing six of Russia’s 15 Arc7-class LNG carriers this summer, despite opposition from Danish authorities. The vessels transport gas from Novatek’s Yamal LNG terminal, designed for Arctic conditions, and rely on the yard for critical dry dock repairs.

The shipyard is the only EU facility still providing such services to Russia’s LNG fleet, according to data from environmental NGO Urgewald. The repairs come as the EU tightens sanctions on Russian energy exports, though maritime services have faced fewer restrictions.

No immediate market reaction was reported, but the continued servicing highlights gaps in EU sanctions enforcement and potential supply chain dependencies for Russian LNG exports.
